Classes & Schedules

We offer a generous instructor to student ratio. (1:12 maximum)  Juniors & Teens have membership options of once per week or unlimited attendance.

LITTLE HEROES
(ages 4-5) (Semester System)

It's a whimsical age, but also the time to learn respect, self-control, listening, and how to follow directions.  Little Heroes classes capture the essence of this stage, by combining martial arts based movements with original and unique fantasy story classes.  Monthly themes include Wizards, Dragons, Native Americans, Elements, and more.  Each theme revolves around physical skills such as balance, strength, coordination, speed, tumbling, and other underpinnings of karate.  Each story class has special meaning and supports the character development of karate training.  Students are considered for graduation to the more advanced program at age 5.5 . Classes are once-per-week on Tuesdays or Thursdays, September through June, and are taught by Mr. Eros & Miss Izotov. No belt ranks, no sparring, no competition, no memorization, and no contracts- just pure and unadulterated growing and fun!

KENSINGTON KARATE
(ages 6-8, 9-12)

We teach Japanese Traditional Karate, modified to suit each age level. We do not teach Competition Based Karate, Extreme Fighting, or any of the trendy newer generation aggressive sports, which often don't consider the physical and psychological growth and development of children.  Traditional karate includes a complete and effective self-protection system, taught with a heavy dose of character development and an emphasis on the artistic and mental aspect of the study.  We reinforce values, such as courtesy, respect, teamwork, sharing, benevolence, and integrity.  Students can attend once or twice per week and progress at their own pace.  We always remember that youngsters need to play and have fun, while they reach their goals and learn important life skills.
Schedule - (ages 6-8)

TEEN & YOUNG ADULTS
(ages 13-25)

Teens and young adults enjoy the self-defense, fitness, and artistic aspects of karate, but mat work is a favorite!

Classical Karate:  In this more advanced variation of the traditional art, emphasis is placed on the practical applications found in karate, which include striking, grappling, throwing, and weapons defense.  Here, students work towards their black belts, which is a mark of leadership, character, knowledge, fitness, confidence, and of course- physical prowess.  There is a sense of community and lifetime bonds are formed in this life altering journey.

Mat Class:  Mat techniques are integrated into the curriculum at all levels, with emphasis on rolling, falling, sweeps, throws, surviving on the ground, control on the ground, wrestling, etc.  One learns a lot about oneself, on the mat!
Schedule: Karate - (ages 13-25)
  • TUESDAY: 6:30 PM
  • THURSDAY: 6:30 PM
  • SATURDAY: (as announced)
Classes are one hour long.
Past events have included movie nights, training retreats, restaurant outings, participation in demonstrations, community parades, tournaments, and seminars.
